The Twin Cities Museum of Contemporary Art (TCMOCA) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit Green and Contemporary Arts organization in the State of Minnesota. We are dedicated to the advancement of both the arts and sciences. Currently, we engage the community online and through traveling events.
TCMOCA: "Where the Arts and Sciences Come Together."
It is our goal to raise environmental awareness through the universal language of art.
In our own communtiy, we are also working on developing a LEED Platinum Certified art museum that meets other third-party criterion such as the Living Building Challenge and Minnesota's own B3 standard.
Our partnerships and community development plans are designing the future musem to be a new fixture in Minnesota's architecture, and potentially integrated with a larger mixed-use development.
TCMOCA is inspired by other places and spaces with great organizations in areas around the U.S., like the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver (MCAD), Grand Rapids Art Museum (GRAM), The Green Building and The Green Building Gallery out of Louisville, and the California Academy of Sciences, just to name a few. What do these organizations have in common? Apart from a common thread in contemporary art, all have achieved LEED Certification and are integrating sustainable practices and green building maintenance into their daily operations.
